AI agents can draft, check and even launch campaigns. The real question is which decisions they should own and what guardrails need to exist first.

Tools like Copilot Studio and Power Automate make it straightforward to build agents that read a brief, create assets, call platform APIs and report back. The technical barrier is falling quickly.
The harder question is operational. An agent that can activate a smart campaign can also send the wrong email to a million records.
Every agent action should be logged with the prompt, the input data and the API call it made. Volume caps, allow-listed actions and a kill switch are not optional extras.
Design principle: an agent should never be able to do something that a new team member on their first day could not be trusted to do.
QA checks, naming convention enforcement, token audits and reporting summaries are strong early use cases. They add speed without handing over irreversible decisions.
